If you show your car to your parents and say, "I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing" then you know Toyota has suceeded.

The new xB is a nice car, but it does NOT replace the previous xB. The previous xB was all about attitude, and it certainly gave it.

It was the most polarizing car IMO and that's why it was very successful. The new xB, IMO became just another "toyota"... a boring car.

Toyota should've made the new xB just as polarizing as the previous one and put the Corolla engine.

Scions are meant to be cheap fun cars, not luxury/performance.

"It doesn't drive in as compelling a manner as the similarly priced Suzuki SX-4"

Suzuki SX-4 is a competitor for the Corolla, not the xB.

Although Suzukis maybe decent cars, but you buy one today and they're only worth 1/2 of what you paid for the next day.

Don't worry, scion owners, Toyota and true industry insiders laugh at people like you; you don't get it. The car has an enthusiastic near cult following, it is cheap and mod friendly, and Scion alone outsold all of Mitsubishi cars and SUVs last year.

"Less geeky corolla wagon"
"Not terrible"

His tone was bad, using adjectives like 'fine' and mocking the fact that a car has a friendly enthusiast base shows his ignorance of the industry.

"Autoblog" review should have an established educated editor review the car like most journalist entries, or a team or reviewers to get a more balanced view. The reviewer had the most tainted review and instead of giving credit for strengths, listed them as fine

So, it's great that all of you xB owners like your cars - it does have its positive points. So, why do you care so much if an auto reviewer thinks there are some areas that other cars do better? You don't have to convince me to buy one, just be happy with it. I remain unmoved, and who cares?

Wow, what a weird review.
I just turned over 10,000 sweet miles on my 08 xB2. I'm glad for the bigger motor, 'cuz it has PLENTY 'O POWER (even tho it replaces a VW GTI-VR6). Comments on "uncomfortable" seats are a surprise, as mine are most accomodating.

What a joke this 'blog' was. I also love my box. I drive 200 miles a day in mine and have no problems with the seats...Oh, and body roll??? Really??? Drop it a bit and that goes away. What stock car for $16K doesn't roll a little? Suzuki? Please! Don't hate!
