  • Hey um yes you really misunderstood what I said. Why the heck would you ask that. Read my question more carefully. I asked if either these people or their dances derived or related to the Afro colonials. But I hoped I cleared up any confusion.

  • Partly. Also, you must remember that a lot of blacks from the other islands in the Caribbean came to work in Panama during the time of the canal, before and since then. So, whatever customs and dances they had in their home islands (as carryover from their African roots), then brought with them to Panama. So, some of what you see in Panama is a legacy from the slave trade era, but also from when the Jamaicans, Dominicans, etc. came.

  • Are these people or the dance descendants of the African slaves brought to Panama and Colombia during the Spanish colonial period !?
