Eva Mae has amazed me since I first saw her on the Gaithers. Her son, Myron has, too. I love the song he wrote Without Him for it is so very true.

It always amazes me how well these great singer can still sing, as such an age. Eva Mae is one example and George Beverly Shea is another.

@timandmonica There is also a very good book on Eva Mae "Still Small Voice" written by Ralph Moore, the LeFevres long time bus driver and assistant. (Derek Press). You can probably order it off the web too. Mo Jo

@timandmonica One good bio video on Eva Mae and the LeFevres is the Gaither video "You Can Have A Song In Your Heart". I don't know if it's still available for purchase. Check out the Gaither website; you may be able to order it there. You may also find it on Ebay. Another great video which features Eva Mae is Charlie Daniel's "More Than The Music" (Rambos & LeFevres). I have several others; will send more info when time allows. She was a remarkable lady. Thanks for the interest. MoJo

@MoJoPiano You have motivated me (an old metalhead) to look further into her. Can you recommend a good video that shows what you are talking about? I feel a video would capture so much more of what she is communicating. Thanks for your recommendations.

This song made millions for Mylon LeFevre and started his career as a serious rock entertainer, working with the likes of George Harrison, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Mick Fleetwood and many others. Even if he never had done anything else, writing this song made him a wealthy and successful musician.

Precious!
There have been a lot of great women in Southern Gospel Music, but none have contributed more in my opinion than the late, great Eva Mae LeFevre. In her day, Eva Mae had no rival when it came to old time southern convention style piano playing. She was once a flawless alto singer, and perhaps one of the best emcees gospel music ever produced. She had a way of communicating with an audience like no other. She will be sorely missed. Thank you for sharing this precious and toucing video. Mike
