  • Excellent video. I hated school, would worry all day about that trip up the stairs and would feign a visit to the loo every time the bell rang so I could take a long walk around the lower corridors to try and loosen up and tackle them smoothly while most of the crowds were already in their classes. Then I got wise and became the worst truant in school. That was the 70s.

  • @psisky I don't know how many times in high school I would get halfway up the stairs, my muscles would stiffen up, and I would act like I forgot something in my pocket. Then I would walk back down the stairs and wait for the stairwells to clear out. Nothing was more frustrating to me than the fact that I was afraid of people seeing me walk up the stairs with stiff muscles.

  • My high school is on the second floor of a building. I have this with stairs all the time (unless I've been going up and down them recently.) Good to know there is someone else who knows what it's like :)

  • @meg5730 Thanks for the comment. It took me 22 years before I could walk up steps and not worry about who was behind me. Now I walk at my speed and don't worry about it, but I understand that high school is a different place.

  • @Daveslazz I have this too...my high school is on the second floor of a building so I have to go up like 20 steps.... (I was nicknamed penguin) yeah it sucks sometimes but it's the way we are and it could be worse :)

  • great vid; i dont have this myself but it's great that you're helping to spread awareness

  • It happens and people don't see our hidden disorder and think we/I are faking our symptoms, Thank you for this video.

p.s. i'm full of injuries and scars from falling over and spasming , (sp) bt its what makes me ME !!

  • I wish that YouTube was available when i was at school (21 yr ago) and not diagnosed until i was 16 - i was tested for everything else and then they found my MC, i just had a horror flashback at seeing the beginning of your video and STAIRS , this will also be engraved in my memory as i was labelled "Robo-cop" due to my stiffened movements and my muscle hypertrophy, i still to this day have to plan my day so I use stairs as little as I can.

I try to not let day to day things bother me , but..

  • @XtrOrdinaryFilms When ever I get stiff I STILL act like I forgot something, or dropped something, or I got a text, and I'm 25...I would rather just pretend like I'm 'occupied', and wait for my legs to catch up, than to get glared at. Eventhough there is more info out there about it now, some people are still just not patient. Thanks again Jim for another amazing video!!
