The potential for this game is through the roof. You can tell ANet has really put a great deal of thought into this game and that thought seems to be primarily from a player's point of view. GW2 has so many new, innovative ideas that will make the whole experience better for everyone. Not to mention, the art/graphics are amazing, and the combat is truly revolutionary for an MMO. I can't begin to explain how excited I am to play this game. Here's hoping release is coming very, VERY soon!!!

Syf, there were mmo's that were way bigger sandboxes than this. Namely Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies. They both predate WoW however. WoW was essentially what made the sandbox mmo design disappear. Ultima Online especially was a huge sandbox, no levels, just a variety of skills you could mix and match, player housing that was extremely customizeable. Crafted items usually were more desirable than anything that dropped off mobs because there was free for all PVP and everything was lootable.

Guild wars has one of the best communities ever. I was in ZoS (Zealots of Shiverpeak) which was a dev guild in guild wars 1. Gaile Grey has a toon in the guild, and the guild leader Frostraven or w/e would organize epic HA battles with alliance members. Can't fucking wait for more guild wars!!
