  • Where is the justice in this world? A non-entity like Madonna makes millions and a genius like Jane Siberry is virtually unknown. For shame.

  • In some ways she reminds me of Kate Bush, same lush and creative sensibilities. This is beautiful.

  • @cyprescrow I know the one you are talking about, it is eveerything you said, can't find it anywhere. Please let me know if you do !

  • @cyprescrow so well said....without sounding elitist... so tired of music these days..where is the creativity this woman does her lyrics, music and videos with....

  • It is truly a remarkable song by än equaly remarkable woman. And I agree... She should be far more recognised...but as you said the mediocre is the norm. But majority has never been right. They never bother to dive that deep

  • It's really sweet to see how gentle she can be with a child. I'm not sure if the baby is hers or not but she is very loving and affectionate. The way she holds the child is very endearing.

  • This is a great video. Sexual nuances. It's an odd video but I love it. For me this video evokes a multitude of emotions. She has sultry eyes and the tempo is great. I'm so happy to have been able to find this song from back in the 90's.

  • Not Madonna is to blame, but the largest part of the record- buying public. They're afraid to experience their Temple. Mediocraty is safer, because it avoids growth, which can cause some pain.

  • simple...pure genius

  • @n8rules And yet, this wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have the feeling she got shamelessly plagiarized by tons of mainstream performers who fed off her ideas and concepts, without her getting a fucking dime for it. I think her intellectual property was awfully defended. I hope she at least got good money from that Canada Council grant, She deserves it

  • Every time I listen to The Vigil, I feel a similarity with Bach's famous Chaconne for

solo violin. Both works were made after the death of a loved one, For Bach it was

Maria-Barbara, his first wife, and I can't imagine that Jane Siberry made all of this up.

Their lenghts, their spheres are alike, I think.

  • Yeah, but where´s the original? Can´t find it. This is a smoothened out version of the song. Her oroginal cut was much more agressive. The Drum package and the attitude in general were far tougher. This is good alright. But in comparison to the original, one has to admit this is a bleaker shadow.
