Believe me when I tell you that the compressed u-tube sound quality and one-dimensional camera angles presented here don't come close to conveying the raw emotion and excitement of the live show. Especially if you were sitting in Front Mezzanine or mid=Orchestra section, looking up at the stage, with a pit full of live musicians playing real horns and woodwinds twenty feet away!

The Schwartz score was adapted specifically for the actors who played in the original Imperial Theater show. That is, songs were written specifically for or by Ben Vereen, John Rubenstein and Irene Ryan (famous 4 her "Granny" role in The Beverly Hillbilies). To hear someone say Rubenstein didn't rehearse enough for the role makes me LOFL! These guys all played these parts 5 or 6 days a week, sometimes twice a day w/matinees. I saw a few live performances and believe me they were WONDERFUL!

he's honestly so talented, there is no denying that. sorry he didn't play the part "deeply" enough for you, but he did an amazing job. also, he's so f-ing cute here.

I liked him. He is more an actor who sings and his performance shows it.l I saw nice focus!

He moved into a HOUSE and found his child. Loved him in that best. Meet him a few years ago and talked to him about that movie. He really lit up! =)

I saw John Rubenstein play Pippin. I loved every minute of it. The best play I have ever attended, and, of course, while Ben Vereen stole the show, Rubenstein wasn't far behind. Yeah "Crazy Like a Fox" John Rubenstein was absolutely tremendous!
He took Carrie to the prom and she killed him with her brain.
