@audia2ev how is it non trivial? is it not bolted on like normal?
-
Lol, even people who do know how to weld may not have access to equipment or the time to do it

I wanna ask u two things
1-what kind of controller (which control power flo) is there in the market..any site u know.
2-where I can find a powerful motor cuz Im into sport race E-car.
thanx

A2 is easy to convert because frame was designed to be cheap and simple, after that they did have idea about making it hydrogen powered and they made a lot of space for this "idea"... Heil Audi.
Excellent vid and job well done.

could the gearbox of the A2 be used for a normal forklift motor conversion?
DanFrederiksen 4 months ago
@DanFrederiksen er... what is a "normal forklift motor conversion"? I've never done one :) And I didn't use the gearbox here, imho using the (petrol/diesel) gearbox on an electric motor conversion is not a good idea for a number of reasons.

@audia2ev hehe it's just the usual DC motor conversions that people have been doing for decades where it is mounted to the existing gearbox or in some cases directly to a differential.
I was just wondering if that was possible with an A2 as well but I assume it is. that engine and gearbox can be separated.
I agree that using the existing gearbox is not ideal but then again neither is rest of the A2. it can be an acceptable compromise in many cases. ease of conversion being the primary reason

@DanFrederiksen OK... separating the A2 gearbox is not trivial, not in my opinion the way to go, but I do know at least one A2 conversion where he has used the gearbox. IMHO using the [A2] gearbox is quite a lot less ideal than using the rest of the car. But why use the gearbox? a) you don't need gears (you need a fixed reduction diff) b) it is very energy inefficient, c) it requires a custom plate to be engineered d) it will break under the increased torque... etc. Ergo, no-go.

When you are filming, make sure the background noise is not at the same volume or louder than you.

You better not watch the other 7 vids, you might have problems with my directing skills.
