Pistol Pete and Dr. J could have played on the same team. I bet the Hawks would have made it to the finals then, and even perhaps won it all.

  • @1lastshot1lastmiss well understand your dads decision DR J is "The Best Dunker of ALL TIME" no doubt 'in my mind'.. But I feel you on 'Pistol' Pete Maravich; My favorite aswell.. He believed if you came to see basketball and he was playing he'd make sure you did *not* forget it what you saw... And that's what Entertainment is..

  • That would have brought a ring to Pistol and Erving's finger... Alley Hoop would been born back then .... I can hear Pete now... "Pete *notices Julius's jumping ability* during a early practice 'How high can you get up there?' Pete asks in all seriousness.. 'High Enough Petey' Julius speaks with a chuckle 'Let me throw one up to ya see if you can catch it and dunk it in there..' ...what shoulda been

  • bullshit idea that team better, why not let the guy shoot 40 times a night, why not?

  • @ramgarr IthinkSweet Lou would have loved playing with those two in an uptempo game. Hudson would have had open shots galore plus it would have played to Pistol's biggest strength, his passing.

  • The big problem is that Milwaukee drafted Erving in the '72 draft. Erving was signed by the Squires after his sophomore year from UMass. The NBA didn't have a hardship draft at the time. Erving's senior class graduated in '72 and the Bucks decided to get his rights in case the ABA folded. If Guerin and the Hawks had announced that they had signed Erving BEFORE THE DRAFT, I'm sure the NBA would have allowed them to keep Dr. J.

  • my fav player-pistol and my dads dr j

  • Had that happened Lou Hudson would have jumped off the roof.

  • I have a video uploaded on my channel of the Squires wioth the both playing together, take a look to that, it's awesome.
