not to be political or anything. but its just HORRIBLE how a tie now would be. it would be: Azerbaijan Turkey Russia Armenia. just think of all the fighting between them!

because of thsi tie, many countries boycoted the 1970 edition of the Eurovision.

Would have been funny if they fought over the awards. "It's mine!" "No - this one is mine!" "No! I held it first, it's mine!" etc etc etc

@AlexHWalker They didn't have enough rewards. Usually the song and text writers would also get their own. In the end just the artists got them on TV.

What confuses me is that they weren't expecting a tie and they had no tie break rule but they had an award for each of the winners!

The funny thing is that Laurita asked Mr Clifford Brown in the rehearsals what should be done in case of a tie, and Mr Brown just answered: "madam, that never happened before, and that will never happen". And the rest is history: four winners.
