I removed my protective locs after about 6 weeks. It took about 6-8 hours. The removal process was simple. Overall, I loved this protective style!

  • @HealthyHairJourney Since combing your hair while it's dry is one of the necessary steps to taking your hair down (removing the shed hair) does this step make wearing this style habitually a bad/dangerous idea? can you spray your hair w/ water 1st before combing it?

  • @MsMuffin2008 I agree with ksmiles. If you don't comb first, you will experience severe matting and breakage. I have made that mistake in the past. The dust knot will also get gummy and harder to separate.

  • How did you maintain your temporary locks? I loved the tutorial by the way!

  • @CapricornQueen80 Maintanence was easy just applying the Hydratherma Naturals growth lotion and oil daily.

  • Can men do this? Or our hair needs to grow out alot before putting the loc on?

  • @kareemtiheed Sure men can do this. This style can be done on any length of hair. As long as it is long enough to braid :-)

  • I don't know what I did wrong but taking the wrapped hair down is pure misery! I'm taking mine down after being in 6 weeks and I'm almost convinced I will never wrap my braids again!!! This is gonna take forever-- but I can't wait to have my fro back. :-)

  • @NVme08 Hey. I would not keep them in for more than 8 weeks.

  • I saw you on black girls with long hair, get it girl! this style was so cute

  • I love it Leemah!!!! girl u truly did your thing with these!!! Still on my protective style challenge as well girl!!!! Lovin' every week of it!!!

  • @MsMuffin2008 i'm not sure if its the same thing with box braids but after having a full weave in for a few months i took out the weave and the braids underneath. i thought it be easier to comb my hair out in the shower but the water made my hair mat together! never again. idk if it'll work different if u spray each section with water separately vs submerging ur whole head but i say try detangling one dry then one wet and see what happens

  • Thanks for the video! I'm totally trying this. About how long do you recommend a person keep this style if they aren't interested in permanent locs?
