Luna Lovegood & Preston Lodge [HP/DQMW crossover]

First of all, this video is my contribution to Sibzlipz's Harry Potter crossover contest.
I've had this idea for a long time, combining my favorite series Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, with Harry Potter. This video is one idea out of two with this concept, and hopefully I'll be able to make the other idea too, where the setting will be Hogwarts.
Lol, one of the first ideas I had for this video, was that Luna, when she went back in time, she would go and ask Dr. Quinn, where she could find Preston Lodge. And another idea I had for this, was to make it kinda a funny video, with Luna following Preston everywhere and he sees best that she would just leave him alone. I even made a little test clip where I had Luna giving Preston a fright, when she says "Hello" without him knowing of her presents and him saying "argh, what are you doing"...yeah rather silly, but I thought it was fun. Anyways, that all changed when I found the song for this video and how it sounded, didn't fit together with a funny video that would have included audio, so I left it out.

- Story/Spoiler:
After having been made fun of, Luna Lovegood finds herself more lonely than usual. She goes to her common room and pulls out an old photograph of her oldest magical ancestor, who lived in the 19th century.

The photograph shows a family made out of two Muggles and their daughter who was the first one from the Lovegood family tree to possess magical powers, who's powers were believed to have originated from the father who's name was Preston A. Lodge III.

Luna makes a decision, she wants to meet her great-great-great-grandfather, Preston Lodge.
Not wanting to be met with too many difficulties, on her time travel trip, Luna makes up her mind to go back to the time before Preston marries, back to the year 1870, to the Muggle town of Colorado Springs.

After using a Time-Turner, which she had borrowed from Minerva McGonagall, Luna is successfully taken back in time, where she without any difficulties finds the one person she's looking for. Luna recognizes Preston instantly from her photograph, but also because of his gentle nature he so calmly displays as he stands peacefully outside his bank. Yes, he's a banker, a businessman, Luna has in her mind; she has done her ancestor studies and she was so proud.

Slowly Luna approaches Preston, while curiously admiring him. She feels a sudden angst, worrying for his well-being. It's odd, she knows he's fine, but she can't help it, he's family after all. As she gets closer, she calmly admits, he's fine, his beautiful green eyes showed it.

Luna decides to wait a while before meeting face to face with her g-g-g-grandfather, and just follows him around, fascinated by every step he takes. Preston slightly becomes aware of Luna's presents, but tries to pay no attention to her, as he has no clue about her, and for all he knows, should not.

Finally Luna is ready to meet Preston; she gently tapes his long jacket, making the banker turn around while looking all stunned at the site of the young witch, but yet he finds himself smiling. Luna is happy to see his face as calm as she would want it and curiously looks closer at him. Preston notices that Luna doesn't wear any shoes and asks out of concern, about it. Luna is about to answer the truth, but is stopped by the thought of having to make up a lie in order for her to spend more time with him. So she does and tells Preston that she has no money for shoes and that she is very hungry. Preston, out of pity, offers to buy Luna lunch, which Luna gladly accepts, happy that her little lie worked.

After lunch at Grace's Café, Luna somehow convinces Preston to play a game of baseball, as she knows this is a popular game for Muggles, and with this excitement, she can't help but use a little magic, even though it isn't allowed outside the wizarding world , but with her so far into the past, what harm would it do?

After having spent several hours in 1870, Luna convinces herself that it is best for her to go back to her own time and place. Having lost site of Preston, Luna finds him outside of town, out observing a piece of land. Preston sees Luna arrive and waves to her. Luna comes over to him and tells him that she has to leave, but that he has been very kind to her and thanks him wholeheartedly. Preston has never really been thanked that way and gives his smile to Luna. Soon after Luna uses the Time-Turner and time travels back home to Hogwarts.....END.

Oh no, the show is not called “Preston Lodge” - he is just my favorite character from the show. The show is called Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. It's definitely my favorite tv series - every episode is so rich with its characters and well thought of plots.

You CAN find this show on YouTube. I think all episodes of its 6 seasons, are online.

I'd never heard of the Preston Lodge before so it seemed rather random, so really my ignorance clouded my judgment.

I'm curious now and will look up the Preston Lodge programme on YouTube.

I don't think it's random at all...Its got a story and I chose this theme because I love both fandoms.

It is not a western film but a long TV series (a popular one) and I focused on my favorite character in this show, Preston Lodge. I thought it would be a lot of fun making a character from Harry Potter appear in this awesome show and have a fictive connection with it.

Seeing Luna moving through all those scenes is amazing! First I've seen like this at YT. Your story line is great too, wonderfully creative. I'll be watching your other vids too, and subbing of course. If you get time, please check out my first effort. (An Emma Watson Tribute of course.) It's very simple compared to yours, and it's slow, romantic and set to my own music. Thx again!
