Nearly 60% of high school students in South Carolina lack basic knowledge of US history and the Constitution.
SC Department of Education officials write off the low end-of-course test scores as glitches that will work out with time. Do you?
This is just the most recent indicator in a long line of troubling reports about academic achievement in South Carolina public schools. Go to www.voiceforschoolchoice.com to read more.
Parents cannot wait for years in hopes that more money and time will fix the problems their children are facing today. School Choice can provide the much-needed options to start improving student achievement now.
By the way, I made a 78 on the End of Course exam. This test is so bad, that I made a 98 in the AP US History class and a 5 (top score) on the AP US History Exam and was barely able to pass it. So come on South Carolina, either redo the test or get rid of it.

Okay, this is incredibly ridiculous. I am an AP US History student at a SC high school. I recently took the SC US History test and noticed several flaws in it. For one, it requires the student to analyze and interpret history. CP students are never required to do this. Also, the test is wrong. Most of the time, there are no right answers to the test questions, or all of the answers are in some way or another right. I can't believe SC would even think or requiring students to pass this.
