@maverickhornet he probably freaked out because he was most likely high on heroin or cocaine too. he was into drugs when he just got into the band also

I think Johns guitar gives out towards the end and his is actually doing an amazing solo but the guitar wasn't going through the PA or something... Thats why he looks pissed as the sound guy was just having a cigarette and not telling him. Making John look like a bit of a fool... yet he only got to hear his own god like sounds then
