The Taming of the Shrew (Wooing Scene)

The Wooing Scene (Act 2, Scene 1) from the Gaudete Academy 2010 production of "The Taming of the Shrew."

This was a fun one to do! The audience was great and really leant us the feeling of a cagematch. One of the things we tried to do was to make Katherina and Petruchio evenly matched, as well as to give Kate "silent lines" - hence there are several of Petruchio's speeches that feel more like dialogues than monologues because Kate was able to respond physically, if not verbally.

Finally, I'd like to thank my wonderful actors for letting me put them through physical hell for this scene. And I would like to point out that I wasn't the one who originally thought of the licking!
