  • Nice unit and well worth purchasing. However, many of the metals like aluminum, copper and cadmium used in bearings and pistons are NOT magnetic and will continue to circulate if tiny enough to escape the filtering device. I personally use computer HARD DRIVE MAGNETS taken from old hard drives. I use 4 of them spacing 3 around the filter and one centered on the bottom. These are very powerful magnets. I also use a 'PURE ONE' Purolator filter, too. However I am changing to a frantz bypass filter.

  • GO TO EBAY AND SEARCH FOR ITEM # 110650699697 ITS EXCELLENT

  • Great invention but I really believe the paper/fabric filter inside the unit would have caught most of that shavings anyways (99%)... some of the shaving that are too small and does make their way through the filter wouldn't hardly do any damage to the engine worth being concerned about.
