@johnjb076 the garden in the song is Madison Square Garden, (also) a concert hall in NY that both Elton and Lennon had a special bond with, and where they once appeared together on stage.

This song is so beautiful. Elton used John's life as an analogy to a garden. Elton's unique insight was able to bring all of us to understand the life of John Lennon. My heart is saddened.

Why would Mark D. Chapman shoot Lennon? John was a man who believed in peace and love. This just proves revenge makes matters worse
Dislikers, you suck.

@Aplaceify same. I've played it so many times. Check out the older studio version of this one, this one is superior to me

We have lost one of Rock's best friends. The boy's name was Johnny who Imagined a better future for the world.by holding everyone's hand and starting a Revolution of Love and Peace. Thanks Elton for remembering your best friend. Lennon's spirit will live forever!

His voice is shot at this point but he still gets it done. The emotion is right on point. AND he's doing it without backing vocals. Very nice. It's his best song among many great ones.

Telling someone to shoot you because you hit a dislike button suddenly doesn't seem funny considering this beautiful song was written about a man who was gunned down.
