Special Effects Make Up of SPECIES: The Awakening

This was a short behind-the-scenes put together after we completed work on the film. Try to get past my terrible narration, and look at what we put together from start to finish in seven weeks. A very large thank you to all the people who worked so hard to make the show happen, best crew I could have hoped for!

will you have or have a longer segment on this? i was disappointed the dvd had no extras. For the movie being a lower budget film the f/x looked very good. thought the aliens in the end and the fight scene was very well done. would very interested to see more on them and the fight scene. again very good work.

Thanks for the kind words... we actually put the video together for the dvd but MGM didn't include it, perhaps because the movie title changed after we finished the video? As for more behind the scenes film, what you see in this video covers most of what we shot.

you guys inspire me... thanks for doing what you do... but what did you do to get to were you are now or when you where given the chance to make the movie? what college and so on like what computer type or what did you do to practice to get yourself better at the clay sculpting and stuff

When I heard that MGM were going to film "Species 4 " in Mexico I send several designs and suggestions to director Nick Lyon. I'm a big fan of "Species" films and HR Giger, and I was really excited about the opportunity to work in the film. I had worked free!! Unfortunately, the director never contacted me, even when I sent him lot of emails to his website. The saddest thing is that I live just behind the museum where they filmed the movie but I did not have that information until much later!!!
