Closed rhinoplasty involves incisions which are confined to the inside of the nose. Though this results in no visible scarring, the procedure offers less visibility of the inside of the nose and is typically not possible for more complex cases. Hump reduction, on the other hand, can be performed with closed rhinoplasty.
There are two different approaches when it comes to rhinoplasty. Endonasal or closed rhinoplasty is performed with all incisions hidden inside the nose leaving no external scar. External or open rhinoplasty involves a small incision across the columella.

A combination of art and science, rhinoplasty requires numerous individual techniques to be mastered by the surgeon. Procedural knowledge also plays a big factor as the surgeon must possess the technical skills and also exercise the right judgment when determining which techniques to perform in order to achieve the desired outcome. All of these items must be utilized and come together as one to achieve a successful rhinoplasty.

  • @Armornone

This term comes from the Greek word 'plastikos', which means to mold or to give form .

  • @gemphu1234 SO why is it called plastic surgery if there is no plastic used?

  • @Armornone

    No .not at all.
