I first heard the cure, this version of this song in fact on a college radio station while hurtling down the highway taping songs off the radio on a boombox in the back seat my parents crappy K-Car circa late 1980s on an insane road trip that started having us go to FL but ending up in Minnesota.

First time I heard this was on a Walkman on an intercity express train in Germany. I can still remember pulling out of Würzburg station with the train gathering pace in time to the music. Einfach toll!
