An immature cedar waxwing was hopping around in front of a bar on a busy street, seeming unable to fly. Poking at fallen chokecherries when it should have been plucking them up in the branches. Anyone with a car may be familiar with this species, as they congregate in large flocks and pass half digested mountain ash berries onto automobile windshields.
No parents in sight. It was quite unafraid. I think it found me just as interesting.
