It's OK to shudder when you look at this picture of someone taking a wood screw to the Gorilla Glass screen of a Galaxy S smartphone. I did, too. When we reported that Samsung is using Gorilla Glass in their Galaxy S phones, a couple people wanted to see a demo -- you know, a key scratching against the glass or something of that sort. Enter those lovely, crazy Koreans. They certainly know how to do up video with style, and this one is no exception. Brace yourself for a smartphone snuff film after the break.

  • Im sick of people moaning all the time. it is a scientific fact that gorrila glass is the hardest glass for mobiles but some people are still not happy . if the screen was made out see through non scratch iron people would still say mine broke so it must be shit. facts are facts, they are not opinions, FACT FACT FACT. show me one broken gorrila glass screen and i will show you 100s of broken normal glass. its an improvement.

  • Is painful :(.

  • thay blurred face looks like steve jobs

  • How can putting a bunch of items in a ziplock scratch the surface of the phone-.-

  • Mine scratched from laying it on concrete using the LED as a flashlight for under my car.

  • Interesting though, in that the video cuts at 1:43 before he shows the glass not being scratched. Granted, I'm sure it did NOT scratch, but why cut the video?

Someone tell me why the bezel didn't show scrathes? The same holds true for the back of the device that isn't showing scratches, neither of which is gorilla glass.

  • who will even smash the phone with a heavy sledgehammer?

  • What advantages would smartphones have when D3O and Gorilla glass are integrated parts of the telephones ? Will they be able to take a hit from a heavy sledgehammer then ?

D3O is a rubber/plastik like material that absorbs shocks very wel, its a auxetic material that gets denser/stiffer when quick forces are put onto it,

  • Scratch Test Level : Asian

  • make the screen out of diamong gorrilla glass... weell see what happens...

  • Amazing!

  • i have all these thin in my pocket too...^^
