  • Rule of thumb -- a man should never call a woman in labor a sissy.

  • Practical advice for dads: Don't watch the monitor to know when contractions start and end unless mom has had an epidural. Listen to the mom, she can feel it, the machine is only sensing muscles tightening, not pain.

  • @aprild99 I guess it depends on how people look at the situation. I wouldn't want a man calling me a sissy if I were to go into labor, but that's just me.

  • @crpsaiyan Actually I have 2 children of my own, and you can tell that he was obviously joking around! Even she was laughing! Get a sense of humor for god sake. Yes he did seem pretty "sweet" to me because you can tell he loves her and he was even rubbing her back when she asked.. Some guys are completely insensitive to their wives when they're in labor, which he was not. And I agree on the last part, men absolutely would NOT last even a minute being pregnant OR going through labor.

  • @crpsaiyan every woman who gives birth has my respect though, Mothers really do suffer the most for their children, thats why im training as a midwife :)

  • @connahharvey Nah her hips are fine. During labor, muscles stretch... maybe a couple of bones break, but we still manage... though, that snide remark that guy made about her being a sissy shouldn't have been tolerated. I'm glad she told him to shut up.

  • @aprild99 You call a man who called this lady a sissy pretty sweet?! I just hope your loved one didn't call you that, if you had children of your own. Let's see a man go into labor the way we women do. Ha! They wouldn't last, not even two minutes. We women are troopers for tolerating that much pain for a few hours or more.

  • @crpsaiyan i can imagine its the death penalty, considering her hips are being dislocated slowly.

  • @cactuspokeu i thought he was pretty sweet... way better than some guys.

  • Yeah men look at this like they're diagnosing engine malfunction at a shop or something. I'm hoping my husband doesn't feel the need to inform me (cheerfully) when I'm "peaking" from some goofy monitor.

  • i had to get my partner to look at the monitor because although the monitor does sense muscles tightening it does show when the contraction is starting and stopping. So i found it helpful when my partner looked and told me when it was almost over. It was good to know that it was ending before it even did.
