  • Thank you for this rare treat, cheers.

  • A great number and I love this vid - urban b&w on The Thames - even tho lip sync'd, chk her subtle moves...and the Dick Clark intro! This shows American Soul is a first cousin with Jamaican Reggae - check the backup. And Doris' even has a smile and hairstyle that harks a little to Millie Small. Two ex-pats, U.S. & Jamaica. Anyway, this is one of the great recordings.

  • JUST MADE IT.... In 1963 "Just One Look" peaked at No. 10 thus just making Billboard's Top 10 and it spent a total of 14 weeks in the Top Hot 100!!!

    Was also written by Doris Troy

    Ranked No. 81 on the Billboard's Year-End Hot 100 Singles of 1963 chart...

    In 1964 The Hollies reached No. 2 on the U.K. Singles chart...

    Charted four other times on Billboard by three different artists; Linda Ronstadt {#44 in 1979}, Anne Murray {#86 in 1974, and The Hollies {#98 in 1964 and then #44 in 1967}

  • I wrote a letter about to her in the Record Mirror - and she sent me the address of her hotel. Sadly I was only about fourteen at the time and at boarding school. The mind boggles! Great lady!

  • How good does this feel.

  • Man, what a treat! Had forgotten how great this song is. "Those were the days my friend."

  • NICE! Dick Clark, STFU fool

  • I am 20 years old and I like this song, had never heard

  • Classy Lady !!!!!

  • Mama Soul indeed!

  • Hollies ruined it by making it a pop song instead of a soul one.

  • This is the best and original version, and what a great voice she has!

    The Hollies had a good stab at it, but threw it away by making it far too sugary and poppy.

    Klaus Nomi did a hilarious, but brilliant version too - check it out.
