Alien Jon Poi: nano-Tech Blog fire: Spherecamp 2009 fire stage

nice vid man...jus curious are you doing a trick to get one poi ta got out and relight on that spiral...cause if so thats tight as hell...

I kinda have a feel for when a stall will snuff my personal wick, but can't do it on demand yet. I do see it coming so when it happens I react to it as though I planned it :-P

It seems to happen with tight cylindrical wicks like my custom moonblazes.

I met a fire eater once who could do it on command with eating torches, so that the one wick would snuff, but its flame would light the other torch. He called them ghost transfers.

That's insane, I'd love to learn how to do that, not sure how I'd go about that though...

Do you know of any videos of him (or anyone for that matter) doing ghost transfers?

Also, do you watch glowsticking videos to learn your bounces? I've been practicing those recently but was wondering if you knew of any good tutorial videos?

I started out glowstrigning 10+ years ago, before there were prevalent videos. Sure, I am informed and inspired by GS vids, but my foundations predate them.

Alienjon whats up! This is Dingoni i met you this year at the park session thing u did with burning dan. Dude that is crazy how the poi went out and you light it back up with a spiral never seen that done before! = ) Lovin the stalls n you really know how to play outside the line with your poi saw sum trippy stuff in there thats what i like about your style and performance! Great tech spinning, I' m really impressed with a lot of tricks you show here.

"the video lined up pretty nicely with the track I chose after the fact:" - i would strongly argue on this one, the track is at least 20-30 bpm too fast for this session (no hard feelings please:] )

@poiboi07 It does tend to work better with a larger flame.. it gets really difficult to do with eating torches the smaller the flame gets.

I've always tried to use stalls to relight when a poi head goes out, but i really like the way the spiral comes out looking. I'm going to have to borrow that.
