I actually just started playing the flute in July '07. So, this is after playing for 4 months. I bought my first Bundy on Ebay and didn't even know how to put it together. Now I play a "Gemmy" KGB also purchased on Ebay. I had no lessons at the time this video was made except online instruction from Nina Perlove (realfluteproject.com), Jennifer Cluff and Fluteland.com. This just goes to show what you can do with some good online instruction and a desire to play an instrument. Thank you Nina! To see my further progress, check out my LOTR flute videos!

  • I think your vibrato is, Strange, Try watching some videos by Nina Perlove, then try her technique It works well, She is the reason I play the way I do.

  • You're right. The vibrato is really bad. However, this was only after playing for 4 months with no prior experience. Check out my other videos and see the progression and improvement. Nina Perlove has been my biggest influence as well. She is very helpful and has even commented on on of my videos.

  • this isn't a christmas carol

  • Technically it is an old English folk song. However, it is also a Christmas Carol known as "What Child is This" written by William C. Dix in 1865, to the tune of "Greensleeves" which was written in the 16th century.

  • Beautiful sound! Nice KGB flute as well! How did you like your Bundy, I've heard mixed reviews?

  • Thank you! The Bundy was a nice starter flute. It was in very good condition but I only paid $25 for it on eBay and sold it for $175 locally. I also bought my KGB on eBay as well and it was another good value.

  • the notes for this song are: la do re mi fa mi re si sol# la si do la la sol la si sol mi

la do re mi fa mi re si sol# la si do si la sol fa sol la

sol sol fa mi re si sol lá si do la la sol# la si sol mi

sol sol fa mi re si sol la si do si la sol fa# sol# la (WHERE : lá =A si=B do=C re=D mi=E fa=F and sol=G) since english speaking countries only use letters.
