Saw the play today. Liked the second ending better. this ending is an ending that proves that sometimes, the bad guy wins.

I think both endings are pretty good, for different reasons, and the film still did pretty well...

I guess there's good things about both endings.

I remember seeing this play with the same actress at the orpheum theater in manhattan  off broadway when I was 8.

I heard someone say this below and I must agree with them. The original ending is a work of poetic genious. I get chills every time I watch this whole skit.

they also butchered "The Meek Shall Inherit." That would have added to the movie as well, had it been left intact.
