@plehdehgame A friend of mine finally learned to ride after I insulted and picked on him for 4 years for not riding. He had never ridden a 2 wheel motorcycle before in his life. After starting out on a Suzuki Boulevard C50T he's now on a CBR1000F which he took his road test on in the snow and passed.

Wow, so all along I've been getting comments on this video I posted 3 years ago and not once did I get an email letting me know, until @plehdehgame's last comment... weird. Anyhow, for anyone that watches this more recently, I upgraded to a 650 about a year later and I just sold that bike a few months ago. Now I'm looking for an old late '70s CBR... all of a sudden I'm really digging the cafe racer look. Anyone got any hot tips for finding such a bike, besides trolling craigslist every day?

I'm a beginner and I mean I have no 2 wheel experience at all and I was deciding between 2 bikes as my first. The Ninja 250r and the 500r (both used). I like the new look of the 250 but i'm just worried that if i buy the 250, i'll get bored of riding it and would want to upgrade to a 600 in 6 months. But at the same time the 500 provides more power while it still being a beginners bike and not a supersports bike. So will the 500 keep me smiling longer than the 250? Or is it the same feel?

@plehdehgame I can't really give you a direct comparison between a 250 or 500 (having never been on a 250), but I can tell you my experience. I hung on to the 500 for about a year, and then I was ready to upgrade to the 650 (which I just sold a couple months ago). I'm afraid with a 250 you'll be itching to upgrade a lot quicker. My recommendation would be the 500, it really is a great beginner bike.

In 6th gear 4k was about 40mph and 6k was about 65-70 mph, if I remember correctly.
