This is Carl Bachhuber's giant scale radio controlled C-124a Globemaster's first flight. The first flight took place at Wellnitz field in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The flying field belongs to the Fond du Lac Aeromodeler Association (FDLAA) who sponsors the Warbirds and Classics Over the Midwest giant scale fly-in every August.

  • Yes it is.  The airfield is about 2.5 miles South of 41 on Hickory.

  • Very nice indeed. It would seem (just nit picking) that for realism, you would only need to throttle up 50% or so for take off. A real C 124 pilot could only drool over the power a R/C version has. The real ones sota staggered in the a
