The song Lazy Day from the album On The Threshold Of A Dream,

Lyrics:

Lazy day, Sunday afternoon,
Like to get your feet up, watch TV.
Sunday roast is something good to eat,
Must be lamb today 'cause beef was last week.

So full up, bursting at the seams,
Soon you'll start to nod off, happy dreams.
Wake up, for tea and buttered scones (It's such a crying shame)
Such a lot of work for you Sunday moms.(Week after week the same.)

Today's heaven-sent and you're feeling content,
You worked all week long.
Still, it's quite sad, tomorrow's so bad
And I don't feel too strong.

Lazy day, Sunday afternoon,
Like to get your feet up, watch TV.
Sunday roast is something good to eat, (That's how your life goes by)
Now it's almost over till next week.(Until the day you die.)

  • great song from a great band.!

  • @downwithdinosaurs I have not seen them in about 20 years...but I saw them the first time in 1970 and 5 more times over the years and they were not lip- syncing then as a matter of fact they were one of the very best and I saw most of the big names.

  • Everyday is a Lazy Day!

  • All I

have to say is spot on

  • this is simply so veeeeeeery nice

  • I just love the bit "must be lamb today, 'cause beef was last week"! Brings back great memories, when Sunday roast was an institution and football was just played on Saturday (and Everton won the League!:-)))

  • I had heard from those who state that they were "in the know" (not me) that in the late 80's - especially as Ray Thomas could not harmonize or hit the high notes, most of the falsetto high harmonies had back ups that were pre recorded.

The Moodies have no need now - they use backup singers

  • This = the live version and vice-versa; the Moody Blues lip-sync during concerts. Otherwise a great song.

  • Best Moody Blues song I think :)
