Experiment showing a normal spark then a plasma enhanced spark. The enhanced spark has water added and then has enough force to lift the marble. What I call "High Voltage" in the video is actually the low voltage (plasma arc). This voltage was supplied by mains outlet power & a transformer isolated voltage doubler circuit 340vdc. Sorry for any confusion.

  • good experiment, sounds as though the water is turning into steam, and then the high voltage creating plasma. What ever is happening, there is a lot of instantanious energy to make the marble jump like that (H?).

  • Look at the second video I posted with the same experiment. There is a very short pulse and I can feel air movement. I cannot detect a temperature rise so it may not be steam causing the increase in energy.

  • At 1:03 it looks like the marble hits the array of Diodes (so it could of gone alot higher?)

  • Actually the diode array is behind the plug/marble set-up so it did not hit. Hard to tell in 2d. I can actually feel a blast of air? from the nozzle if the marble is not in place.

  • hi i have just taken the centre resistor out of a spark plug but could i place a cap in the ht lead line and expect it to enhance the spark to plasma as the plug now has a copper core placed in it.but i struggle at electronics and already have scorched my wrists with layers of skin removed .cheers

  • If you are the least bit unsure of what you are doing then you should STOP! Working with voltages that can harm you is not recommended for beginners.

  • Could you repeat this, but without the marble and piping steam through a thin pipe onto the spark gap?, the ignition...if other experiments are valid would cause the steam to ignite into a small plasma cloud.

  • great demonstration.

  • You could calculate the mechanical energy of the marble.

What if this simple calculation gives you overunity in this early stage? Chances are you haven't, but what if you do, like they (graneau, naubin, ...)all claim?

  • I think it's safe to discharge the capacitor first before touching anything.
