@BeckyLinda1 I saw Paolo Pandolfo at a master class. He also plays the cello suites on the viol. When asked about timing he stated that Bach Cello Suites are not etudes, and that it is up to the performer to interpret them. But you know, viol players are known improvisers and also take certain liberties not seen in the rest of the classical world. Improvising and liberty of expression are just part of the training for a viol player. For a percentage of them, anyway.

@CaptainClutch69 They are cello players that think Bach's pieces should not be played on the viol. It's up to seven now. They don't know anything.
