  • Maxim is, as ever, superb. Papain's piano playing annoys me. He shows little love for the music. Perhaps it's the camera, but Vag's playing seems harsh, far too articulated and distracts from the utter beauty of Vengerov's solo.

  • Thats amazing bow control for that first note

  • There are some wonderful German grand pianos' which are also the work horses of the Grand piano world that are a high quality instrument which maintains it's pitch for long periods of time.

  • My two favorite grand piano's and baby grand piano's that my accompanists' use are Steinway's and Clavanova's which seem to maintain their pitch over long periods of time and are the work horses of the Grand piano world. Unfortunately, Yamaha doesn't make even a good piano most of theirs are of poorly constructed materials-Grands just aren't their forte.

  • Both Maxim's and Papain's timing as well as progression throughout this composition are flawless and perfect. Unfortunately, often a poorly constructed piano which goes out of tune and can produce harsh, flat, dull, brassy sounding overtones that often detract from the overall tonal quality being delivered by the pianist, which is the problem with the piano in this video-the pianist Papain in this video is a superb pianist.

  • Both Maxim and Papain's skills are superb as ever and Papain really grasps the intricacies of Shuberts' fantasies his superb playing showing much love for this composition.Unfortunately the grand piano in this video isn't at concert pitch, the overtones producing flat as well as sharp harsh sounds which would be a cause for sounding as if an over articulation was occurring which can be very distracting to anyone.

  • @Beeffyviolin Incredible! Reminds me of the "20 second drone" exercise! You have to hold a note for 20 seconds, without stopping, changing bows, or changing volume, or being scratchy. It is really hard!

  • And you must be very intelligent since your argument is both logical and convincing regarding Vengerovs disturbing facial expressions and poor playing.

Do you also like bananas Violinervioliner2?

  • you are really stupid

  • Why dont you show us how to play it then, you arrogant fool.
