I agree. Madonna's "Like a prayer" was released in 1989 and people don't say a thing about her dancing with burning crosses behind her back or making love to a saint! Then, two years later, they act like Mother Teresas and complain about him ripping his shirt off! OK, maybe the crotch grabs were a bit weird for children, but I think they've seen far worse scenes in movies or music videos. In my opinion, this is not the type of "controversy" that usually BOOMS in the medias.

Us as kids growing up on the 90s understood the message right away, but people focus so much on the "violence" and "subliminal" messages of this video that they forget what Michael was really trying to say.
There's worse videos now with girls half naked and rappers smoking, but no one says anything about them.

damn it! 90% of the shitty videos from the shit music we have today deal with girls, seduction, sex and more! why the hell don't they put the same energy to make bad publicity for them, just like they did for Michael at the time?
nothing Michael ever done was intentionnaly to shock people, but on contrary to wake them up! nothing like those dammit untalend celebreties
