  • Josie, Never moved from his home in Coolmeen other than to the nursing home in Boyle where he died a few weeks later. But thankfully still going strong and getting better.

  • You're Welcome PashaDragutReis. He was the only music teacher I ever had and even then I only had a few lessons but I always remembered what he taught me. He was a lovely talented man. I wrote and recorded a song about him in later years called the Ballad Of Josie McDermott

  • Josie was a Sligo Man and was born in Coolmeen, Co Sligo .Tommy was also from Lough Arrow , Co Sligo. Josie lost his sight and was known as the blind flute player but it never stopped him composing tunes and also plays and songs. He moved to Ballyfarnon in later years.

  • Wonderful find! How many video clips are in existence of Josie's playing? He gifted us with so many wonderful flute tunes!

  • Magic , brings back the memories......

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • It don't get any better than this wonderfull stuff !
