Printing on some Burl Woodgraining on a 1934 Packard dash.
Showing the print being blended.
Next step would be a Smear Coat.... to bring the colors together.

  • The tools are at woodgrainingdotcom

  • Interesting, and well done, but will never replicate a proper veneer job.

  • @Taff1967SC Yes but veneer would not be proper for this dash.

This type of woodgraining was done from the mid 20s until 1953

The car of the Dome in the Chicago World's Fair in 1934

Was all Veneer and real wood and the dash was woodgraining and so was the Horn Ring. I know because I did that cars woodgraining. Really nothing beats the look of real wood, But Woodgraining has a long history in the automotive field.

    Thanks Jdee

  • @JdeeRat No denying that, I think mostly on American cars it does have a long history. Neat looking effect.

  • @Taff1967SC Thanks, yes I think I have only done One Jag one Mercedes

and an Aston Martin in the past 11 years. So just about all were Older American cars for sure.

  • Hi, I will upload all the video with sound and instructions soon. Just testing the HD

    Thanks Jdee

  • My parents owned a '34 Packard in the early 50's and recalled that she used to polish the wooden dash with Marveer polish only to find out that it wasn't real wood.
