Oh come on..."blossoms red" is THE coolest part of the song and you just shot right through it...for shame :P

@Judymichaela ...You forget some of us know David personally...

@diamondhair1 You are mistaken about David Phelps. He is one of the most humble performers I have ever had the pleasure to follow. What you take as his lack of humility is his response to the demand from fans to hear him hit the high notes all the time. Someone who sang at my church came across as unfriendly and aloof until I got to know her. She is one of the sweetest people I know and she and I are now great friends. I have never even seen David Phelps take a bow. He knows his talent is of God

Much better than the GVB version!!......very true and sweet harmonies. Just lovely!!

That was very nice, It started getting a little shaky towards the climax. If the tenor can try to hit it with the natural voice or with a little more control it may have had a sharper sound. Other than that this is a difficult song to do and you guys did very good. Keep on being a blessing. Great Job. PS keep me in prayer because I too will be ministering this same song and I know how difficult it can become but we can do all things through Christ which gives us strength. Philippians 4:13

God bless you guys! keep it up!

Good job guys. God Bless.

Very nice young men....I am a singer, have traveled and recorded, and I know decent voices...Other than a few small mistakes, very nice indeed......
As for David Phelps, I actually would rather listen to other singers....I don't care how good someone is, if you are not humble when singing, it always make you look ugly...

balance seems kinda off at beginning, sound is heavy on lower parts. Tenor 2 part generally overpowers Tenor 1 part.
Not bad. Your harmonies are almost exact of that when the Gaither Vocal Band performed it. My only suggestion, I know it won't be easy but see if you can track down a tenor for that high part. The song really loses a lot when at the end that singer must go into his head voice. David Phelps is not easy to imitate, I know. Also, what part did you guys add seeing as the Vocal Band has four members and you had five?

thanks for your suggestion... we're just a group of friends singing together, so we're just having fun, really... i ended up writing a walking bass line for the end, with some pedal points and inner harmonies, for the two lower singers to work out... that's where the fifth part is...

Very nice harmony guys, good rich sound and nice choice of hall to record.
My one suggestion would be to rely less on falsetto at the end of the song. This song is meant to build up gradually into a powerful and solemn last verse, and the use of falsetto in the tenor range ruins that build-up.
Keep up the great work, look forward to more songs!

thanks xynine for your input...
all of us are naturally baritones vocally, so it's easy to sacrifice vocal power for notes that start to stretch our ranges... so we try to build intensity with dynamics...
we're looking forward to learning more songs as well... we'll see what the future holds!
