Winter's Rose, copyright 1984 by Rose Hughes
Autumn came, and with it the garden died
Petals dropped from flowers that once had bloomed so bright
Chilling hand of winter cast its spell
The garden of hope was fading, and it could not hold on
Leaves would dance on swirling winds and
Land so gently
Golden nights turned dewdrops into
Frosted mornings
Love left me in autumn
Wondering if my hope could carry on
Knowing that the seasons keep on turning
Must there always be an end to love?
I would try to keep my faith
Even against all the odds I have faced
Snows would fall, the garden was laid to rest
But from the crystal blanket, a Winters Rose did bloom
As I would come to know, you were my friend
And you would try to show me that we could hold on
Winter nights we spent in speechless conversation
In our eyes were lives wed shared, our love was ageless
You came to me in winter
Showing that my hope could carry on
While we share the seasons as their turning
May we never see an end to love
We would try to keep our faith
Even against all the odds we face
Turning, turning, turning
Fantastique!
Did Mike write the music on this one?
Remember we talked about having a special effect at the end where snow would start to fall? Would have been awesome!
I had some small part I was supposed to play on the Synergy but it broke before the show when it fell off the stand . . twice! GGGAAAAA!!! :-( FYI to peeps who don't know, it was a $5000 keyboard! I remember I worked on it later on the band house kitchen table and I figured out how to fix! W00T!
Great song!

Mike's music, yes
Falling snow would have been really nice, I forgot about that! (especially at the August show!)
I forgot about the keyboard crash too, lol

hey isn't that your Synergy melody over Mike's piano at about 0:45 during the instrumental intro? Descending notes under the "la's"? Always liked that part.
