wow, I did not know it was that cheap, I kept hearing $499.
That is a very cheap price for a listing at Amazon, but I have another question. Have you looked into making your book available as an ebook? The Kindle is becoming a popular device here in the states, even the amazon ebook reader is now a free download for iphones. That seems to be a wave of the future.

@salpkiss12 print on demand is a service provided by companies like Lulu.com, CreateSpace and Lightning Source. It is a method of publishing.

you don't really need a cover designer, lulu will guide you through the process using pictures you already have. But, how much does lulu charge you to list your book at amazon?

Hey John, That is a good point - Lulu has a much better cover design process than it used to. Lots of templates etc.
It cost me $40 to get distributed to Amazon by Lulu for my last book - the first time was free - they have promotions sometime, so an excellent service. Thanks, Joanna
