There are lots of dislikes because of Victor's tone and in his defence, I think the recording is not high enough quality to get a grasp of his sound. I bet if we were all in the same room as him, it would sound nice. Victor likes to play on the bridge pickup which alone doesn't have enough bass, so he adds some through his pre amp on the bass, amp or both.

Moreover, the elegant and kind soul he is, after the concert Victor Bailey was happily exchanging opinions and chatting with whoever approached him. I will never forget the few words I exchanged with him under the services tend next to the stage.

Thank you for the amazing gig, your unforgettable interplays with Mike and Julius and for honouring so gratefully the memory of the Beloved Jaco.

a couple of days ago a gig has been put on stage unannounced during a jazz festival here in Sardinia . Thanks God a friend of mine was working as a stage tech and urged me to drive to the spot. Victory Bailey, Mike Stern and Julius Pastorius left the audience amazed and enthralled.

I regret the necessary lack of music education to describe in details what it happened over there. But emotions never lie. Victor Bailey enjoyed the gig (tribute to Jaco Pastorius) performing unbelievable iinterplays.

Seems so clear that the recording of the bass is bad.I don't know if they used the mic,direct or what.But the sound is clearly just not recorded well.I'm surprised noone picked up on that.I'm on ocer 1000 records,you know my sound by now,and this ain't it.You miss a lot when you look to "player hate".
