On November 10, 2009, the Department of Environmental Conservation hosted its first and only public hearing in NYC on the draft report evaluating the potential risks associated with extracting natural gas from the Marcellus Shale. The proposed drilling could be the most significant new industrial activity in New York in a generation and threatens to contaminate the New York City watershed, one of the purest, unfiltered water supplies in the nation.
Do you think for one-second the politicians from New York and Pennsylvania are in the least bit worried about the water quality of the people of PA NY and NJ. Profits rule and the people can go to hell. If water is polluted it will stay in the courts and tax payers will pay the bill for the expensive technology to clean their polluted water supply. You cannot beat big oil companies easily. Do not ever for one-second think politicians are on your side.

all people in PA and NY should be fighting to stop this dirty natural gas industry before our water supplies and streams are polluted. it is time for green technology versus digging for ancient sunshine!
