Michael Jackson panicked, I don't think so. He did not want to settle this case. He got bad legal advice. His lawyers told him to settle. Also Michael had the children sleep on the bed while he slept on the floor. There were children and other adults in the room sleeping together. The lawyers told him to settle this case and pay out so he could go on with his career and not have this hanging over his head. It would take years for this to go to court.
