A mamma moose fell thru the ice on Loon Lake, WA. Residents Jamie Steele, Tim Newman, and Morie Baker, and a Spokane Valley Fire Fighter helped break up the ice and pull her with ropes in the right direction towards shore. They were finally able to pull her out. Her young calf waited on the ice in the bay while she struggled, ended up across the bay, falling in itself at one point, but quickly getting itself out, and then wandering up in the woods across the bay.

  • The moose wasn't aggresive at all. She knew they were helping her, and she was thankful to be out of the ice!
