Actually the engines are running and if they kept the doors closed and didn't let the water in they will suffer from nausea and butterlies in their stomach and that will be all. And of course due dirty underwear the laundry of the ship will do overtime as well.

Anyone know what stormforce that was, (Beaufort Scale). Next time I sail across the Atlantic I think I will stay away fom more than a single pint of beer coz it hardly makes for an enjoyable crossing when its stormforce 9. I remember years ago leaving Bergen in Norway to cross to England and just as we were departing the tanoy announced it was Stormforce 9 out in the Atlantic. I thought no captain would sail if the sea was dangerous so therefore stormforce 9 must be safe.
