@bizzel3 Is it my accent or the GPS icon? I never suspect anyone can guess what car I drive by looking on the icon of the GPS... but yea you are right.....

Just wondering, what is the microphone on the front of the 1450LMT used for? I find nothing about its usage in the sparse manual that came with it. In fact, it has no mention at all, other than in the diagram pointing out all the buttons.

Did you try the 2445LMT?
-
does the 1490 have same split screen when it comes to lane assist
-
@401RoadWarrior TRAFFIC is shown in 3 colors: GREEN, YELLOW & RED, also VERBAL alerts before approaching the yellow or red areas. And also you can read the reason for the yellow or red alert, either is construction (where it starts and ends) or accident. You see the construction sign or the STOP sign when a road is fully closed.
No idea if the TRAFFIC feature in UK or rest of EU is as good on the ground as it is in my area, Toronto, or most of major URBAN areas in the States.

@Veritas1925 With the "T" feature: over here is very well developed, pretty much ALL major hwys and lots of city roads as well, in/around Toronto and most of the major urban areas in the States. In this old video:
/watch?v=00tV-KkNQT0
you see I'm running the 265T on the left purely for traffic info (maps are 2 yo but they don't interfere with the smooth operation of the traffic feature) and on the right is the 350 now replaced with the 1450LMT, 265T stays in the very same place.

"READ THE MANUAL !" - you might say.... But I won't I hate reading manuals and often rely on people like you in You Tube who seem to know everything about gadgets

Part - 1
(it does not all fit in ONE post)
Thanks, Chris
My identical wishes for you and your family.
The 'T' - funny you ask me that because I have often wondered if my '1490' does in fact tell me LIVE traffic updates as I think the specifications said in the shop.
All I get is that the map in the screen takes a greyish colour to let me know I am entering a congested area but it doesn't warn me in advance and suggest an alternatie route.
Should it ?

@Veritas1925 "wife & two young children." LOL
MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN (watch the famous American TV sitcom if you need a good and healthy doze of real laugh on this very subject).
A Happy and Healthy 2012 for you and all your loved ones.
Chris
PS How is the T (as in TRAFFIC) feature working out in UK and/or W EU? Very smoothly AND accurate in/around Toronto and most of the USA, mostly in/around major urban areas.
Which is the best GPS???

@shazaib4 In my opinion, it's still 1450/1490. I have tried the newer nuvi, they got lots of bells and whistles, but for features you actually need, it's a step backward (e.g. the ecoRoute feature has changed, now it doesn't work out of the box)

Us it worth buying a garmin 50lm or tomtom 1405tm

@techfan42
50LM is newer but it actually has less feature, e.g. it lacks traffic (depends on where you live, it may not be important). It's a budget model so it has no routes... so not useful for road-trip... The unit looks a little slicker and the interface looks a bit better, but really it's a step backward in usefulness (in my opinion).

I bought a 1450 that was refurbished, I do not have a pin, I'd hate to have to mail it to Garmin and have to wait to get it back, any suggestions, of course I have a receipt, I bought it at Frys electronics in Fountain Valley, CA but I live in Albuquerque, NM

@TOPLVAGENT You may be able to log in to "Maintiance mode" to reset the PIN, search google for "Reset Garmin PIN". It may not work for newer Garmin models so you may need to send it to Garmin.
