SRB-A is the one that was designed and manufactured from IHI AEROSPACE. SRB-A uses the core technology of JAXA, IHI AEROSPACE, NOF CORPORATION and Toray Industries.

The H-2 has ATK boosters. Those are the guys who make the Space Shuttle's SRBs! It gives the H-2 a classic APCP flame, in addition to greatly increasing its capability. Japan made the right choice for the boosters.
