  • wait did you say this only takes northwood cpus does that mean i cant put a preskott 3.4 cpu in it??

  • @Techthisbuffalo At the time I had this machine I read it would only accept Northwood, unsure as to the max speed it would take. You would need to find the manual to the Motherboard that comes with these and see.

  • wich ram did this thing use?

  • @krazykap0 I believe it was DDR 266, it would accept upto ddr 400.

  • .. just received one of these for free...well i'm a linux guy...so i think you need to install linux..."ubuntu".. what's what i install on mine...no need for anti-virus...linux doesnt get viruses...lol....just a idea..for you...i love linux...and you might to just give it a try..

  • @TheMichaelBender For my Personal use Linux just doesn't have the software I need. Its a quick OS, but I don't really like the interface. I sold this machine along time ago. Ive heard Linux is very quick on these old machines...

  • @kablastproductions Nope, but seriously, my cousin got a $1500 gaming rig and it broke in a matter of weeks (faulty power supply) , my dell, payed $1000 (but this was back in 2000) and never had a single problem. Except it got dusty but that was no trouble at all.

  • @pendulumrulez can you run world of warcraft on it?

  • Wow these things are so reliable, I had mine for 10 years, and no problems at all. Specs: 2.64 ghz, intel pentium 4 single core, and 512 mb of ram. And it can run some very fun games; counter strike, team fortress classic, doom, quake, quake 2, zdaemon (online doom) half life, and it was never modded.

  • I have one of these. I actually like it. Specs are 512mb, 40gb, intel celeron 2.4, and integrated graphics. It's not that fast but it is what it is... I don't really play games haha.
