But there is still a little bit of bounce. Not detectable to the ear but to my eyes. Some one who doesn't play violin probably wouldn't notice it though.

It's literally impossible for me to hold the bow that way. My fingers are too fat they don't fit. Also if I try to hold the bow at the first crease of my fingers there is too much bow bouncing. It still bounces a little but basically I do much better if my fingers are slanted. I hold the bow perpendicular to the floor to get that slant. Also I do not drag the bow I smoothly glide it and I hold it with out letting the weight of the bow drag on the strings. Like I said smooth gliding

im learning violin i had 3 classes in 3 weeks and i find it dificult to hold the bow and play an open string with out hesitating and keeping my shoulder relaxed
