All through the town what a sight to be seen
the first flake had fallen twas the night before eve.

Sprinkled on streets and the tops of the trees
from the souls of your shoes to the caps of your knees.

The howl of the wind sent a chill through the air
winter had come; it was finally here.

The ding of the bells from the church down the street
chimed every hour in a fashion so sweet.

Then along came the carolers who danced as they sang
as the fireplace crackled and flickered its flame.

Crunch went the snow as you walked through the land
didn't matter how slow or how fast that you ran.

But one thing was certain that everyone knew
except little Mika who believed it untrue.

Two days until Christmas before Santa arrived
with a sleigh full of presents in the blink of an eye.

From the hands of the elves who designed all the toys
to the homes of the little ones every girl and every boy.

But little Mika exclaimed, "Santa's not real!
he's just as made up as the food in my meal."

So he teased and he laughed at those who opposed
he'd pay no attention and stick up his nose.

Then the next morning when he rolled out of bed
he heard someone shouting, "It's his fault I said."

"Santa's not coming," a little boy cried
"How could you? How could you?" another one sighed.

But Mika didn't care since he thought otherwise
'til his mom and his dad wiped a tear from their eyes.

And in that very moment he soon realized
he stood there and pondered as he looked from inside.

When he opened the door the only sound that he heard
was a whisper from Santa in nine simple words.

"Show me you believe and Christmas will be saved"
so he ran and he ran and he ran the whole way.

He trekked through the woods through the thickest of trees
and climbed on the rocks with the slightest of ease.

In no time at all he reached the peak of the town
he raised up his arms and screamed out aloud.

On the highest of hills at the top of his lungs
"I believe, I believe. Oh, please won't you come"

As he dropped to his knees and prayed to the night
the world's biggest snowflake had come in to sight.

Then out of the sky as if from thin air
appeared Santa's sleigh and all nine reindeer.

He smiled and he laughed and finally believed
not a moment too soon on the night of Christmas Eve.

Up on the roof came a thump and bang
the bells on the sleigh made a cling and a clang

Tiptoeing across were the boots of Santa Claus
and the footsteps of reindeer that left paths with their paws.

Down through the chimney with a shimmy and shake
Santa snacked on the cookies that were left out to take.

Gifts were laid out by the base of the tree
each one something special just like you and me.

"Ho ho ho merry Christmas to all"
everyone can believe no matter how big or how small.

And just like little Mika who knows it to be so
to believe in Santa, you're never too old.

Good night and Merry Christmas.
