In anticipation for the release of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker we follow Smiley Snake as he infiltrates Gamer Haven (also known as Gamestop) in a quest to seek out PEACE......Walker....

Will he succeed in using his tactics and stealth to obtain the lost UMD created by Hideo Kojima?

Director's notes:

1. This project was filmed by Naes888 and edited by Enetirnel for whom I owe my sincerest gratitude. Thank you both for your time and effort.

2. This is the most I've ever purchased in a day for something Metal Gear related. I bought a copy of the game for Enetirnel. The Gamestop limited edition where I kept the artbook and packaging while my brother kept a copy of the game for himself. And finally I bought the Big Boss PSP bundle pack for myself. That's three different purchases of the same game, however it was worth it since we all are having fun playing the game together in co-op.

3. I already own a launch PSP (which you see in the beginning of the video), but I got the Big Boss bundle to see how light and sleek the semi-new models were. My girlfriend and brother all have these kinds of PSPs and I must say they do handle much better when you play on the go.

4. Speaking of my older PSP I am actually playing Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops on it. There's a silver casing on it which has the MPO logo on the back. I got that when I preordered MPO. For my preorder of Peace Walker it just came with a camo bandanna that Naes gladly took off my hands when I used his blue bandanna in the making of this vid.

5. Enetirnel is a trooper. She added the "!" and "?" in the video with a mixture of photoshop and Vegas Pro 9 as well as perfectly synced the gameplay and music with the raw footage Naes recorded. With her editing effects to bring the MGS feel into the video I doubt this project would look half as good as I envisioned. Bravo!

6. I love the Big Boss PSP however I do have some nitpicks. For starters putting UMDs in the PSP is a little more difficult than the older ones as you will see later on in the vid. XD Secondly I feel as though I'm a dead pixel magnet as nearly everything handheld I buy has at least one dead pixel. My launch PSP had two small ones. My Mario Kart DS bundle pack had one on the top screen. And this Big Boss PSP is no exception. I will not likely buy a 3DS on the grounds that I do not want to see dead pixels in 3D...I'm that nit-picky.

7. The white T-shirt with the American flag styled "peace sign" was a gift given to me by my mother who just so happens to be born on the 4th of July making her one of the most patriotic women I know. So as a gift from my "Boss" I felt it needed a place in this video.

8. We recorded on the release date of Peace Walker which was June 8th, 2010. This was a special day for two reasons. It was election day in my state so I had just finished voting and naturally everyone assumed I was some right wing nut job because of the way that I dressed. The second reason was that immediately right after I recorded and purchased the games I had to race back home and finish packing so that I could get ready for my flight to Australia which was hours away from boarding. The last bit of footage with me and the Big Boss PSP was shot in Sydney where Enetirnel filmed the final remaining seconds.

9. This is without a doubt one of the best games I've played on PSP. The first PSP game I got was Metal Gear Ac!d and it's amazing to see how far we've come from that title. I thought Portable Ops was "okay", but never did I think that the gameplay could improve on such a limited handheld. Somehow they found a way (though I do miss crawling on the ground to be honest). The co-op gameplay is much more fun than games like Resident Evil 5 and given the fact that this game can also be played as a single player without any forced AI partners to join you I have to admit that MGS rises above RE in this case....although Master Miller looks an awful lot like Albert Wesker.....!

10. Yes, I intentionally bought some Mountain Dew to drink specifically because Big Boss drinks the stuff. Next I will gorge on Doritos and take up smoking.

  • DirectorSmiley, I know you ^^ You are the voice of Chris =D When I saw Yeti112 who has written "bananas" no doubts LOOL

    Nice vid' xD

  • @Mangekyou59 Yeah I voice Chris in his parodies. Although in Peace Walker you can actually hold people up with bananas instead of guns. Since Yeti loves his bananas me thinks he ought to go and seek this game out too. XD
